CEWHIN’s Transparency and Accountability Project is a 3-year project supported by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. It is aimed at reducing corrupt practices in the implementation of the Ogun state Home Grown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP). The HGSFP is an initiative of the federal government of Nigeria in partnership with the Ogun State government through which free meals are served to pupils in Primary 1-3 in public primary schools. In implementing the project, CEWHIN trains members of the School Based Management Committees (SBMC) and Parents’ Teachers Association (PTA) to monitor the supply of food to pupils. CEWHIN also builds the capacity of the monitors and Civil Society Organisations for effective constructive engagement with the government.
