CEWHIN recognized early on that women and girls with disabilities are disproportionately vulnerable to sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), due both to their gender and intersecting disabilities. Many became invisible in prevention and response structures, facing stigma, exclusion, and inaccessible support channels. CEWHIN therefore prioritized inclusive programming to ensure no one is left behind in the fight against GBV .

Sensitization & Awareness Town Halls

In collaboration with the Ford Foundation, CEWHIN rolled out a project across Ogun, Osun, and Oyo states titled “Strengthening Access to Community‑Based Psychosocial Support to Survivors of Violence Against Women and Girls.” This multi‑year initiative trained community advocates, religious leaders, survivors’ group leaders, disability‑focused organisations, and local CBOs in PFA skills using the LOOK, LISTEN and LINK methodology.
